You can find the date of manufacture (DOM) on the Warning Label of your JYRO (previously Icarus Canopies) canopy. However, depending on the age of canopy, the writing may have worn off. If that is the case, you can contact our Sales Team directly and they will be able to help you. You will need to provide the Serial number in order for them to identify your canopy on our database.
Please note: If your serial number is more than 6 digits and begins with a 9, this is a Spanish made canopy and therefore, we won't be able to help identify the DOM or provide any information about the canopy. This is for Safire and Crossfire models. You will need to contact the manufacturer directly so they can check their database.
Here are some tips for those of you that haven't managed to score a JYRO canopy of your own:
- Check the Label: Look for the Warning Label on the canopy. Manufacturers provide important information about the canopy, such as the date of manufacture, serial number, and other specifications. This label is typically sewn into the canopy fabric and can be found on the 'tail' of the canopy.
- Contact the Manufacturer: If you couldn't find the date of manufacture on the canopy, the best option is to get in touch directly with the manufacturer. They should be able to assist you in determining the manufacturing date and provide any other relevant information.
- Previous Owner or Dealer: If you bought the canopy second-hand or through a dealer, you can also reach out to the previous owner or the seller from whom you purchased it. They might have information about the canopy's history and can potentially provide the manufacturing date.
If you have any doubts about the age or condition of your canopy, it's essential to have it inspected by a certified parachute rigger or professional before use. Safety should always be the top priority.
